How We Use Collected Information
The information we collect is gathered from the registration page. For each visitor to our Web site, our Web server automatically recognizes the visitor’s host name and IP address, but not the e-mail address. In addition, we collect aggregate information on the Web pages visitors access or visit as well as registration information. For registrants, we collect names, e-mail addresses, agency affiliations, General Schedule Pay Grade/Step salary, and commuting information. However, there is no salary information attached to the registrants’ records. All salary information is used for general statistic purposes and is not associated to personal registration.
The information we collect is used to improve the content of our Web pages, customize the content and layout of our pages for each individual visitor, and/or notify visitors about updates to our Web site. As part of the registration agreement, registrants will be contacted by us through e-mail to communicate with them about future offerings from Telework Exchange. We may share non-personal, aggregate statistics about commuting and agency affiliation; however, none of the information we disclose in this form can be used to personally identify site members. Certain information, such as the registrant’s password, is never disclosed in any form to outside parties.
E-mail Communications
Registrants that have supplied e-mail addresses, will receive e-mail communication pertaining to telework and updates to Telework Exchange. Registrants can “opt-out” from receiving these types of e-mails by using the opt-out mechanism located in the received e-mail message.
In addition, registrants can utilize an alternative non-government e-mail address, but must provide a “.gov”, “.mil”, “.us”, or “.edu” e-mail address for registration.
All E-mails
If registrants wish to opt-out of the e-mail messages, please let us know by contacting info@teleworkexchange.com. It will take up to 10 business days to process the opt-out request.
Correcting/Updating Information

Cookies
Telework Exchange uses cookies to store visitors’ preferences, as well as record session information and user-specific information. Our goal is to ensure that we do not serve visitors with the same banner advertisements and Web-page content based on a visitor’s browser type or other information that the visitor sends.
Ad Servers
In order to provide site visitors with relevant offers, we may have relationships with other companies to place advertisements on our Web pages. Ad server companies may collect information such as visitor domain type, IP address, and clickstream information.
Security
Telework Exchange takes industry standard precautions, including firewalls, to protect member information from unauthorized use. When registrants submit information via our Web site, the information is protected both online and offline.
The Telework Exchange Web site may include links to other Web sites. We do not control the privacy policies of the destination sites. Once visitors leave our servers, use of any information visitors provide is governed by the privacy policy of the operator of the site visited. That policy may differ from ours. If visitors cannot find the privacy policy of any of these sites via a link from the site’s homepage, please contact the manager of that site for more information. Telework Exchange is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of Web sites other than the Telework Exchange Web site.
Policy Updates
From time to time, we may use provided information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy policy. If our information practices change at some time in the future, we will immediately post the policy changes to this Web site to notify visitors and members of these changes. If site visitors and members are concerned about how their information is used, bookmark this page and check back periodically.
