"Telework and Mobility: Keeping Teleworkers Secure"
FREE Webcast

Date: Tuesday, June 10, 2008
Time: 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. EDT / 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. PDT

Telework Exchange, Cisco, and WebEx hosted a Webcast, titled "Telework and Mobility: Keeping Teleworkers Secure" on June 10, 2008. It focused on the security aspects of telework and methods to ensure reliable secure remote access for the mobile workforce. Data security is a top priority and is top of mind for agency professionals, however, concerns about data protection should not be used as an excuse to hinder telework adoption. With proper training, support, and equipment, mobile workers do not pose a data security threat.

Attendees learned:
  • How do agencies evaluate and address specific security challenges posed by the remote workforce and endpoint devices?
  • What steps do agencies need to take to ensure their mobile workforce is prepared and trained to securely access data from remote locations?
  • What are the technology solutions that enable secure teleworking?
  • How can other agencies replicate proven security best practices specifically focused on teleworkers?

Panelists:

  • Moderator: Kathy Kadilak, President, Strategic Work/Life Solutions

  • Bill Marsh, IT Security Officer, National Science Foundation

  • Tim Schmidt, Chief Technology Officer, Department of Transportation

  • Randy Barr, Chief Security Officer, WebEx
