The Telework Exchange Teleworker - March 2009

The Telework Exchange Town Hall Meeting
The Telework Exchange Town Hall Meeting, held October 15, 2008, attracted hundreds focused on advancing telework programs across government agencies.
Keynotes Announced for April 8th Spring Town Hall Meeting

Telework Exchange Spring 2009 Town Hall Meeting attendees will hear from leaders in human capital management who have turned their attention to the critical role work/life balance plays in efforts to attract and retain valuable employees. Max Stier, President and CEO of the Partnership for Public Service will deliver the opening keynote. The Partnership for Public Service is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization focused on attracting talented and qualified candidates to public service and to improving government performance. Mr. Stier is a recognized thought leader on Federal workforce issues and will address the role of telework in positioning the Federal government as an employer of choice for the next-generation public servant.

Vice Admiral Mark Ferguson III, Chief of Naval Personnel and Deputy Chief of Naval Operations, will give the Town Hall Meeting luncheon keynote address and will discuss the comprehensive and progressive programs currently underway across the U.S. Navy to establish telework for shore-based employees and a Virtual Command pilot program. The Navy has made impressive progress in its efforts to implement flexible work arrangements for Navy personnel from various geographic locations and backgrounds. Hear what Navy leadership has learned about productivity, employee retention, and deployment of remote workers on shore to complement its long history of managing its workforce at sea.

In addition to these featured speakers, the Town Hall Meeting agenda will include sessions on telework programs from the Federal CIO perspective, how agencies can establish balanced enterprise-wide telework programs, and how defense and military organizations are integrating telework into their mission-driven operations.

The Telework Exchange will host the Spring Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C. For complete program and registration information, please visit www.teleworkexchange.com/townhallmeeting.
