Allison Tanner

Allison Tanner has served as the Executive Officer within the Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, since April 2007.  Ms. Tanner has over 20 years of federal service, and began her CDC career with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health in April of 1999, where she served in several positions, including: Administrative Officer; Deputy Director of Extramural Programs; and Deputy Associate Director for Management and Operations. 

Prior to joining CDC, she served for five years as an Administrative Officer for the Joint Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, NC, where she received the Superior Civilian Service Medal, the highest civilian honor award given in the Department of Defense.  Ms. Tanner also serves as the lead management representative on the CDC/ATSDR Labor Management Cooperation Council, as well as various other Agency-wide committees and workgroups.  In her current capacity as the Executive Officer, she has also served as the Agency Champion for the CDC Telework Initiative and coordinated a major revision to the Agency’s Telework Policy.
